I'm thinking of visiting the Grand Canyon someday. Have any of you been? What's it like hiking into the canyon and then exploring the park afterwards?

I'll be there in September, I have a room inside the national park, I plan on waking up at 4 am, hitting a shuttle bus to kabib trail, and hiking down a few miles to Skeleton point and coming back up.
