Deer taste WAY better in the early fall when they've been gorging on apples for 3 months. Elk are just generally easier to find during archery season in my area because they're all horny and running around screaming chasing each other n fighting. Elk tastes better during rifle season but the season is less than a week long compared to over an month long archery season.

As with anything, if you harvest them while theyre full of testerone they're not gonna taste as good
