South Park and I don't think its particularly close. Family guy's humor is dumbed down by comparison in my opinion. Now if you asked me when I was 14 or something I might have said Family Guy.

Exactly and I can appreciate the topics be it political, popculture or other that my 14 year old brain didn't appreciate as much.

I was banned from watching both from my parents (mom mostly)

since Family Guy came on later at night, i could catch it pretty regularly. If only South Park also had a later showing time.

Thus Family Guy is my pick.

Also South Park kept up with current events and we forget certain details so the episode loses its overall effect.

I totally understand. Growing up, my father would actually WATCH IT WITH ME. At first, my mother was hesitant, until she watched some herself. I was encouraged to watch South Park and I love my parents for it.

i didnt watch it until one day randomly i was told i could not watch it then i was like well now i have to see what this is. i was 10 and the trapper keeper ep just came out i watched it ever since.

south park is very hit or miss. some episodes are great some are junk.

original family guy was mostly all good.

so my vote is for futurama.
