Flat earthers don't really care about the shape of the earth they just use it as a vehicle to channel their deep distrust in authority and society.
They also tend to be religious because it's easy to sell hope to desperate people who don't require thorough evidence.

They are conspiracy grifters who are only interested in their blind belief.
