Grand Unified Theory is essentially 99.999^∞% complete. (which is as good as any theory will ever be)
M Theory unites String Theory, General Relativity, Special Relativity, Newtonian physics, and quantum mechanics.
(if you dont know what M theory is, you are behind the times)
Further Verifying all evidence produced concerning globe earth, the moon, the sun, other solar bodies, motions of the stars, continents, etc, everything mentioned in the various theories above, while also accounting for dark matter and dark energy.
(only a fool would dismiss this outright)
There are loads of credited physicists and mathematicians that are able to explain these concepts and essentially prove to layman without the need for an advanced understanding of mathematics.
(a lot of the time even with an advanced understanding of mathematics some of the concepts are hard to imagine because many are counter intuitive)
Edward Witten being the most prominent atm, but Brian Green, Michael Spivak, Steven Weinberg, and Carlo Séquin are also helping people understand these seemingly unfathomable concepts. (just to name a few)
(these are all people that are far smarter than any of will ever be by the way)
All different people, from all walks of life, all over the Globe, doing research independent of each other with separate motives under separate independent authorities, but colleagues in the search for truth in understanding of the world as we know it, and the universe, and everything.
(It is kind of ridiculous to claim there is some mass conspiracy between all these people and agencies and governments, and 7 billion people just never noticed.)
You greatly overestimate how close the grand unified theory is to completion and validation.
In order to actually validate M Theory we would still need to find a supersymmetric partner, which may require an even larger hadron collider if we can ever find one at all.
