what did he do with the all the gold he scammed?
He used it to buy a bunch of items from
D2Jew. D2Jew had a huge trade list on d2 with some 100 various items all listed together for a total of >200k. Quasi bought every item for the full price while the game was going, which was obscenely overpriced; the actual value would be somewhere around 70k being generous. I spent a few hours putting together the accusation and trying to get a hold of Quasi, along with a friend of mine who knew Quasi semi-personally, and who eventually got a hold of him. Quasi had been so tired of d2jsp, really, from having played in BnP for so long and from having been a constant overall losing player (as with almost everyone else there) that in order to forcibly overcome his "addiction" he decided to scam so as to prevent himself from being able to play there again. But he ended up feeling remorseful for it, and gave me back every single d2 item he had bought--I hadn't even been playing d2 for several years and had to make a new account just to get all the items from him. I immediately contacted D2Jew and let him know what had happened, and although he was online and was still refreshing d2jsp for a while after my messages, he never once replied to me. I think it is more likely than not that D2Jew knew Quasi was unloading stolen forum gold, and given that he was not willing to undo the trade for what would be no loss to him, since he'd get all his items back, I consider that he is complicit in the scam and is guilty, but d2jsp can't do anything about it.
Since the items that I got from Quasi represented value scammed from not only myself but several other players, the moderators told me I had to give all the items to them for them to sort out the partial repayment. They ended up listing out all the items and contacted each of us telling us we could claim a certain amount of the items. I got back a few valuable items which I was able to sell back for like 10k iirc, which was about 1/5 of what I was scammed. Most of the items were never claimed by anyone though as they were random 1-50 fg items not worth the time to sell.
