well Heliocentricity was to done to shift the power to the state from the church in order to collect taxes, basically it was beaten into everyone for 400 years because no one could prove it wasn't a ball so basically no one really knew - it was just bias against the church and the need to make the King the supreme decider of stuff.

That all changed in 1911 when the wright bros proved powered flight was possible (dont forget they were denying this as possible in their globe model for 400 years.) So the American goverment formed NACA to explain how this was possible, so i think it was them that figured it out. But wtf do you do - just tell people - know one is going to believe you - they just stfu until 1958 when the let the Nazis scientists (Project Paperclip) took over and changed the name to NASA, so thats really when the deception started. As to why the deception, well beside the possibility that they are hiding God , more land and resources beyond Antarctica, imagine the chaos it would cause in Academia - the amount of careers that have preached this stuff for a lifetime, the billions they make in making you think Satellites are real and the real big one is how the sun isn't a giant ball of burning gas and that the formulas to create energy are wrong and tesla was right in describing this Universe as totally electrical in nature.
