Ok, if you can replace a tension spring with a slinky - ill believe you.

it says "The primary function of this type of spring is to allow an outside force to create tension then use energy to pull components back together."

Slinkys do not serve this function at all.

that's literally what's happening in the video of someone dropping a slinky, tho.

so a garage door spring isn't a tension spring because you can't replace it with a trampoline spring?

a more practical example, attach a toy car to a slinky, and the other end to the wall. pull the car away from the wall 10 feet. what happens next?

please show me the video evidence of where a tension spring is replaced by a slinky and the device still works fine, if you cant your all defeated losers.

You're replacing one spring for another spring

A slinky is not a fuking spring, it does not even remotely serve the same function.

replace your garage door spring with a slinky and show me it works still and now we're talking

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slinky

Slinky is a toy, a precompressed helical spring invented by Richard James in the early 1940s. It can perform a number of tricks, including travelling down a flight of steps end-over-end as it stretches and re-forms itself with the aid of gravity and its own momentum, or appear to levitate for a period of time after it has been dropped.

so a spring in a mechanical pen isn't a spring because you can't use it in a car suspension? gotcha. makes sense.

like i said, slinky, toy car, wall. bam. springs back to the wall when extended.

if you can't visualize that and need a youtube video LOL
