that ones my wifes favorite.  if you like it you should give the laphroig a try.  she was pleasantly surprised to find it almost as good.

i poured her some caol ila, but she guessed lagavulin on her first try.  got it on second guess tho.

lagavulin is my favorite.  caol ila is also good, tho.  the ardbeg and laphroig i generally find to be a lil too strong for me to enjoy as much and watering em down, well, waters em down...

Love laphroig and lagavulin, those are 2 of the other scotches I have, also have oban cask strength. Something i found really cool is smelling a scotch, then adding a DROP of water and smelling it again. It will smell different.

The cask strength is AMAZING, but it was a limited edition so I haven't seen it around anymore. Been nursing that bottle like crazy, haven't touched it in ~6 months.

ah, thats a shame. ive got a few discontinueds that i do the same with, although sometimes they can change over time. caol ila ive found doesnt hold up well at all, at least not the last bottle we had. this ones doing good so far, although its only been a month or two since opening it. ive had some good luck with finding discontinueds, though, got quite a few of them at awesome prices.

time to hit the sack instead of the bottle now, though, i gotta wake up in 4 hours for work...

Meh, I just started this new job, my first chef job, so im pretty much there for 14 hours a day, except for off-inventory mondays. I tend to micromanage everything so I need to be there when other people are there or else ill be freaking out at home about people not doing things properly.

I'm saving picked up a bottle of Pisco while I was in Lima, Peru. And a couple weeks ago I had some absinthe in Venice, Italy, My wife is picking me up some more next time she flies international. Aside from that it's all been pretty basic stuff lately.
