why can the naked eye (with no zoom) see clear features of the moon that is supposedly a quarter of a million miles away, and yet u disbelieve we can see a blurry out of focus item just 300 km away??

What details you can make out is dependent on the distance of an object and how large the object is (You can't see the truck Elon Musk sent into space, but you can see planets with the naked eye). You can make out features of the moon with your naked eye if they are super large. The moon is ~1000 miles wide, which means those dark spots you see are ~200 miles wide. So why can you see details on the moon? Because they're hundreds of miles wide.
