I happen to know for a fact, there was never any religious entities with any influence over people in the history of mankind that ever supported flat earth.

In fact, the Catholic Church knew about globe earth and the Americas almost 1000 years before Columbus came to America. They traded with "Vikings" for furs and whatnot
from trips they were making across the Atlantic on the reg, eventually The Church sent cartographers with the "vikings" to map the new lands.
(because "vikings" did not use or make maps)
