"Be like the mayfly. Life life to its fullest no matter what. We do not know how short life is until we either are at death's door or we are by someone we love who is soon to depart."

"An adult mayfly (shadfly) may live from a few minutes to a couple of days. Many end up flattened upon windshields(1). Others, as food for birds and reptiles(2). The rest will mate before shedding their mortal coil(3). Which path will your life take?"
Tiny hint, all three paths are important.
1. a huge population where their numbers end up on windshields denotes that a nearby ecosystem is healthy, e.g., the ecosystem is of "high-quality, low-pollution."
2. without the nutrition that mayflies are to the species which prey upon them, the number of predatory organisms, e.g., dragonflies, frogs, lizards, and birdrs, just to name a few, may diminish.
3. mating ensures another year of life for both the mayfly and for the ecosystems they are an important part of.
