Free health care and education is definitely the right thing to do. I wonder about the universal basic income. On the surface it sounds great right? But I wonder if some of the arguments against it have some truth to them?
I'm certainly for society as a whole providing for those who cannot provide for themselves. But to blanket it into a universal policy....who would be the ones generating income if they didn't have to?
Capitalism has its faults, there is no doubt of that. Recognizing those faults and holding individuals accountable for committing crimes is necessary I'm not sure about the universal basic income argument. Human beings need to have goals, not be spoon fed.
Automation will make it pretty much a redundant conversation, but those who produce more will obviously earn more.
I worked extra hours for years so i could retire young, many will choose to live on the ubi, and that will leave jobs for the motivated to get ahead.
The biggest lie we ever told is that we have to work for some corporation to feel satisfied in life.
I have been retired for a few months and i have never been happier.
