Quote (ChivasRegal @ Sep 22 2019 12:18pm)
Job 37:18 (KJV)
18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
the translation "looking glass" gives the reader the clear understanding that it is "transparent" which would explain why we can see the blue water (sky) through it when we look up during the day.
Ok I'll give that verse saying "like moltern glass"
It was said by Elihu, one of Job's friends
Other translations
NKJV : With Him, have you spread out the skies, Strong as a cast metal mirror
(You'll like these)
NIV : can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast bronze?
ESV : Can you, like him, spread out the skies, hard as a cast metal mirror?
Now as I said before , the Bible:
1) it was written in hebrew and aramaic
As a result we have many translations like you see above
2) even though it was believed to be inspired by God it was written by people who could make mistakes and knew less about the world than we do today
To start (if we look at this scientifically) how did Elihu come by this information?
