Now as I said before , the Bible:
1) it was written in hebrew and aramaic
As a result we have many translations like you see above
2) even though it was believed to be inspired by God it was written by people who could make mistakes and knew less about the world than we do today

To start (if we look at this scientifically) how did Elihu come by this information?

either way, all the translations suggest it is a strong physical barrier, holding back a lot of water above the stationary flat earth.

All the Bible authors were prophets, they were given visions or dreams about future events, and a lot of them are about the last days before Jesus returns.
Baruch (from the Book of Baruch) who was the scribe of Jeremiah and lived around 600 B.C. describes eerily similar events of his visions about the last days that seem to match almost perfectly with what John writes about in the Book of Revelation (some 700+ years later) from his visions.
2 people who have a different perspective of what they describe they are seeing in their visions.

Can 2 scientists have a different perspective or interpretation of an experiment they perform or witness?

If you are going to a scientific debate with an audience, are you going to use the argument "the Lord told him"?
Especially since many will not be theastic

While I agree prophets existed there is no reference to Elihu being a prophet especially since God condemned his words and attitude to Job at the end of the story

Thus the chance is high he decribed it and interpretted it as he saw and understood.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the Bible was also written figuratively
If we take the "metal" translations literally we have a problem with the theory of the "done" being transparent

You need to check the original hebrew to get a clearer picture
