Best advice I can give is to look at other people's profile and if you click the item name above any item it shows sales history.
Use this to evaluate rough pricing and also look to what makes any given player that is active work (melee or caster) and how they mic there gear around.
Only the mods from the first accessory are active the only mod that works for the second slot is ee. So I like to get a good mod charm to assist my dmg charm or weapon in my main hand.
