To imply that souls "travel" to heaven/hell after death, indicates that you are claiming that they have a predetermined destination to head to after death.

The correct transition, even before Christ's influence and accepted in various "forms" by many variations of Christianity, is that the soul is first judged in Purgatory after death.

That means the decision to either go to heaven or hell is not decided before death, but rather after death, during judgement.

This means you are once again wrong, and I have just discredited you in the most fundamental basis of Catholicism and the precursor of Christianity.

Salvation is not about being a good person or living your life a certain way. It's about trusting God and believing Him. The Bible says that if you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and believe in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead for your sins, you will be saved. The prayer in the first thread sums this up. The good deeds and living your life a certain way comes AFTER you know that you are already going to heaven, it's not the cause. Once you know you are a Christian, then you should seek to obey Him because of what He has done for you.
