LOOOOOOL! What a fucking moron in the video! "Perspective convergence!"

Get this. Objects further away disappear only from the bottom. By such stupid logic, I could stand on the shoreline on my head and watch things reappear.

You can't make this shit uo, people.

Lol ya that video was fucked, you know when shit makes so little fucking sense you have to google it just to make sure you arent insane? Only kent hovind and that guy can pull off that kind of wizardry.

E: its a fun thread though, to disprove his theory we need a 4 mile straight line

I could drive to downtown Minneapolis tomorrow and post a photo from the observation deck of the IDS Tower. At 55 stories, I can probably see a little more than 3 miles.

Ya but you need a straight line, he would likely argue any roads or markers of any kind wouldnt be straight, moving goal posts is easy if you hate science

E: even proving you could see further than 3 miles without all the convergence crap, hed still just say its a trick of the camera or the rays reflecting off venus or some shit

Ee: the video lierally refutes itself though, "sun looks like its only three miles but if you go up 3 miles its further" so wtf are we talking about then?

Hell, I can do that from my office, and I only work on the 8th floor. I can see Buck Hill from there, which is maybe 10 miles away.

Is 3 miles an example/approximation or is it a definite number you would claim is the farthest a human can see?

he even states in the video that the 3 miles is just an approximation, due to people having different types of vision impairments/prescriptions

it always helps to actually watch the video before asking questions...

the reasoning behind this video is so flawed

Is there anyway we can test this kind of thing on neutral ground? Like a specific camera type and setting so we have a basis for comparison? Also could you give me some approximate distances to a few astral bodies? Including the sun and moon ofc
