This is basically just a repeat of Card saying "If we live on a spinning ball why don't the stars change position every night?" and then running the fuck away when I linked timelapses from amateur astronomers and point out how the fact that stars do was one of the reasons ancient civilizations knew we weren't on a flat disc.

I'm gonna update some objections I've made that nobody can address with regards to flat Earth just so I can keep a public list.

So far from what I can remember


1. Nobody will ever state what "the law of perspective" is, or give a way to predict what a given scene will look like based on it.
2. If we live on a flat disc the sun would have to be obscenely close to the Earth for it to ever appear to go over the horizon, and if you do some simple math you will see that the usual height of 5000 miles of the sun is too high for it ever to appear to set even if you are at the complete opposite side of the Earth from the sun.
3. Why is there a conspiracy at all? What does anybody have to gain from pretending the Earth is round?
4. If things like the ISS aren't real, why can amateur astronomers predict where the ISS will be at any given time using orbital mechanics and verify the predictions using amateur level telescopes? "It's on balloons" isn't an answer since it travels far too fast for balloons to ever be a viable method of lift.
5. If the Earth is flat why can we use globe earth models to predict with near perfect levels of accuracy when eclipses will happen, what type they will be, and where they will be visible? Why have flat earthers never predicted a single eclipse using a flat earth model?

1. I'm not the one claiming a law exists. If you think there is such a thing as "The Law of Perspective" then define it. Simply saying "this is how perspective works" doesn't make it a law, and all the observations you have about perspective perfectly follow with the trigonometry and optics that I've been pointing out.
2. If the sun simply "traveled beyond our perception" it wouldn't fall below the horizon. Something traveling far away such that we can't see it does not mean it goes below the horizon. If you simply release a balloon into the air and watch as it flies away, you will see that it goes out of your view and yet it never crosses the horizon.
3. Does not address the objection. Why do they care about governing if we think the Earth is round?
4. Amateur astronomers can predict where it will be, although many do reference websites. Still, doesn't answer the second part that you can't explain what it is, how it stays there, or how it got there.
5. You can say you don't believe the model, but the fact is that the model is virtually 100% accurate. Similarly, the Soros Cycle is perfectly explainable using orbital mechanics. The flat earth model has no way to predict eclipses, although there are empirical ways to do it none of them are dependent on the Earth being flat.
