nearly every "photo" of "earth" is a compilation of dozens or hundreds of snippets , recombined , to create the actuality experience of a globe pic
so sure, everything is modified. combined or enhanced purely for aesthetic value, sats that hover 400km above earth can't grab the full globe photo

and i think a kid in their basement can alter images, even the moving ones
but the proliferation, the context, the viewing experience; ; ; ; they lend themselves to a high degree of believability factor
pictures used to offer total truth
then pic modification techniques and technologies created the fake pic phenomenon
and now, with the improvements made in mod processes, pics are now the ultimate deceiver opposed to being the harbingers of truth and documentation of reality
