what's wrong with my painting?
just before the sun "goes away" or "goes under", i can see it somewhere near the horizont or how one would call it.
if you use my painting now, you can guess that the angle is about 3° or sth, it's a very small value.
in a flat world this would not be possible.

i suppose that you do not understand perspective

does this help u?

Good job describing a sphere geometrically - that really has nothing to do with 3 d perspective, so you think one point in water is higher than the other - and it is a curve right?

Well if Earth is a curve - MAybe you can tell me why string-bobs work, In construction they are used to find the vertical lines of the corners of buildings.

So you think that if you use one - it would point to the center of earth right? So if a large building is constructed these 4 x vertical lines wouldn't be actually parallel, they would be slightly wide at the top then at the bottom and the slope would get worse as they made each floor so that building should be much wider at the top then at the bottom, um on, please dont ever build anything.

I already told you why. Because no point is farther from the center and gravity pulls to center.

It'd bad enough you discount gravity but misunderstanding the way it works and misrepresentating it to fit your argument is just pathetic.

On the sphere earth model the things your describing work just fine, so stop using them as exceptions because you don't understand them.

Thing is, discounting gravity isn't all that bad. The way laws work in physics requires a certain amount of goodwill in order to accept them. The reason why we accept these laws is because all observable phenomena confirm the laws. There is no proof, only observation.

It's perfectly reasonable to find this method phony, especially considering that laws are used to prove other theories in physics.

However, as it stands, card_sultan simply claims gravity is a lie (and that we're all gullible for believing it), without offering any tangible proof. The closest he got, as far as I remember, was by misusing the word "relative" and pretending that gravity implies a whole lot of impossible phenomena.

in this video there is a wall. i suggest an experiment with no wall, just near the sea.
you will have a nice view of the sun "going under" or "going away" and you can estimate the angle of the sun towards you

this angle will become very small - so small that it could not be explained in a flat earth with a radius of 40k km and 5k km height of the sun

with a lower sun, like 2k km height, there would be other contradictions.

so nobody has yet to prove the existence of an earth? I rest my case.
