Moonlight / shade does not have a temperature. The object being blocked from the moonlight is also being being blocked from the night sky, which is the actual source of the difference in loss of heat between the 2 objects being measured. This experiment would yield the same results on a night with no moonlight.

This is what i thought. Trees and coverage would basically trap heat like a less effective blanket and raise the temp.

Hes really bad at explaining what he means though.
