well I've been watching some flat earth videos on youtube, trying to get an idea of what they believe...

the short answer is they believe the rich people on the earth lie to us about pretty much everything....

thats it!
its a damn conspiracy theory that got blown WAY out of proportion... and it evolved into this thing where they believe they have proven the nature of the universe simply because they think the universe isn't real and we just live in a dome and we are in a type of prison....

they think antarctica isn't there... and if you try to go there you will be abducted by the government or something, which sounds like a load of shit to me.... I mean I want evidence its not there and the rebuttle is that we can't give you evidence because the government won't let us....

it's very paranoid and just seems like a painful way to view gods beautiful universe he made for us

you guys need Jesus

this pretty much sums up this entire thread... just for the newcomers who just got here... (Post 4962)

A simple bubble blown from soap, why does it float instead of being pulled down by a force of gravity?

You keep trying to sound smart but your missing the big picture. Something stationary without force being applied should have force being pulled on it at all times coming from the opposing side relative to the earth's core (assuming this is where gravity comes from?) regardless according to the theory of gravity so plz explain

Bubbles do go down. Have you never made soap bubbles? They fall slowly, but in like 15 seconds they always go to the ground unless theres an updraft keeping them in the air (ya know, applying an upward force to counter gravity)

Literally every time you try to counter me like this i give you a very easy and quick explanation, and half the time your observation is wrong in the first place, like now saying bubbles dont fall to the ground.

ok a helium balloon has no force being applied at the top of the balloon (opposite of earth's core)

You can just google how to derive the buoyant force if you want.

Its the same reason things float on water, and comes down to the fact that helium is less dense than the surrounding air.

Long story short it's a natural consequence of gravity and wouldn't exist If gravity didn't exist.

how come when I Google for earth pictures nothing comes up besides a publicly admitted photoshopped photo?

the helium and the air around the balloon are pushing against eachother, trying to exist in the same spot.. the denser object wins this struggle... it's called bouyancy and we already had this discussion years ago

Hey good that is correct, now why doesn't that same balloon move away from me horizontally if the earth is spinning hundreds of miles per hour?

If humanity would unite as one family there would no longer be people who thought the earth was a plate. Imagine a world where we are all brothers working towards a euphoric future without hatred, war, disease and famine. No people left hungry, unable to afford medicine... Love, my brothers is the light to quell the darkness. In our hearts.

Why does it matter of its photoshopped? If i take 10 pictures of a house and stitch them together to get hogher resolution did i change how reliable the individual pictures are?

The same reason if you jump while on a train going 100mph the train doesnt fly out from under you and you smack into the rear wall of the cabin.

Because you are going the same speed as the train when you jump and you keep going that speed unless a force acts on you.

In the case of the balloon you, the balloon, and the atmosphere are all going the same speed so you wouldn't expect the balloon to start traveling away from you except because of wind.
