Cosmic backround temp is -455F (averaged)

Because of earth's proximity to the sun those temp are a little diff, 400 in the sun, -300 in the shade. (But still close to the average, and my numbers are approx estimations)

Lets start small scale, anyone can do this, and with the information one obtained, the distance of all other solar bodies can be inferred.
You can look up any number of ways a person can measure the distance of the moon from home, often times without spending any money.
(unless you reject modern science (like landing on the moon), trigonometry, and modern tech. (things like cameras, and satellite telescopes / radio(laser) telescopes)

The supposed distance to the sun is not measure with lasers you numbnut

they can barely shoot a laser across 40 miles of a lake without serious refractive shifts from temperature differences. How are they going to shoot a laser past the 4500 degree temperature in the thermosphere while maintaining a straight line of sight path?

You don't understand the first thing about RF UHF ULF or how we use them in telescopes to observe and measure very amazing things.

It's obvious because you think lasers are limited to points you use to play with your cat, and those pew pew pew things you see in your star wars movies.
