Been many years since i have done any welding but i have never seen a welding helmet that any way of adjusting the tint on the helmet. I have seen some that automatically go dark when you strike the rod but no actual adjustment. Dont know why you would even need the ability to adjust them.

I don't know anything about that sort of stuff so maybe I misunderstood or he told me wrong or maybe he was talking about the auto dark thing

maybe the mask wasn't for hiding from the eclipse

maybe it was to hide from something else
