German Shepherd are intimidating enough, I think any 80 lb + dog that will stick its hackles up that doesn't look like a golden retriever will put people off and make them consider some other place.

My buddy has a golden retriever/yellow lab mix and that dog is scarier than any other fucking dog I’ve ever seen. Absolute angel of a dog and a unit of a duck hunter but when that dog lights up you better stand the fuck back. The things head is no less than 8 inches across the top


E/ it’s all about the bloodline of the dog and the training that goes into it. Don’t get a pup from a couchlocked house dog or you’ll have exactly that, doesn’t have to be a purebred but just make sure it’s from a working line so that it has decent drive

He looks exactly that too, went into his house one morning to wake him up since he was late for hunting. Door was unlocked so I walked in no big deal I’m there all the time, about 3 seconds later that dog took two jumps down a full flight of stairs and was on top of me with its feet on my shoulders growling like a fucking grizzly bear. I could see the change in its emotions once it realized it was me but that fucker still didn’t let me stand up till his dad came down stairs and called him off. No doubt that thing could have killed me right there if it wanted or felt like it needed to
