Become a master at micro, then become a master at macro.
Start winning games by micro skill, then attach a strong macro and you'll be the AoE Maru.

sc2 is not really like aoe4

My Japanese micro with them crossbows horse can be pretty sadistic abuse.

My raider elephants also have a great micro ability:
Ability
Raider Elephant Trample AoE4 Trample (active): The skilled Mahout causes the Elephant to rear and enter a frenzied rage for 6 seconds. While enraged the Elephant can trample through any units, dealing 4 damage every 0.5 seconds to anything within range. This ability has a 30 second cooldown after trample ends.

But overall you pretty safe without any military units until the 16 min mark, when know how to micro villagers and garrison them into towncenters/towers/etc

But the sadistic abuse of the warrior scout hits the nxt level.
This unit have only one goal: death
