When it comes to d2r, and from what I can remember, it does require a decent graphics processor.
This is directly from Blizzard's D2R forum:
"Diablo II: Resurrected (D2R) requires a 64-bit Windows® 10 operating system, 30 GB of storage, and a broadband internet connection. Minimum specs include an Intel Core i3-3250 or AMD FX-4350 CPU, 8 GB RAM, and a Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 GPU for 720p resolution. Recommended specs for 1080p are an Intel Core i5-9600k/AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB RAM, and a GTX 1060/RX 5500 XT."
From what I can see, a D2R player needs to spend at least $500 USD for a used laptop to enjoy the game.
If you do go used, my only suggestion is do a thorough laptop clean, e.g.: open it up (there are lots of YouTube vids on how to do that) then clean out all fans and output ports. If you are comfortable, clean off and replace the cpu and gpu thermal paste. It becomes all dry and cracked if someone had the computer for like 3 or so years.
My last client's laptop had enough cat hair in it that I could make a small cat hair sweater for their cat.
