Is there a big significance why euros eat so much raw onion? Feels like trying to prevent intestinal worms from undercooked meat at this point. Or is it just a cultural thing where people think food without raw onions isn't considered food.

When im eating bossam or samgyeopsal wrapped in lettuce, i prefer onions and garlic raw
Food like pasta or fried rice, definitely prefer cooked
