No need forge just a clamp table and belt sander or grinder and a sharpening stone. Band saw maybe if you are scared of a cut off disc

Knives are cheap af unless you getting into some specialized/high quality blades.

Just use a simple box cuter or victorinox for $10

Tajima retractable blade and victorinox is all i use cuts everything.
