An app that uninstalls jsp.

Thats a million dollar idea

Haha, well hey; at least you’re thinking outside the box! 😄
But real talk: for every person joking about uninstalling, there’s a dozen more who’d love to engage more if the platform evolved with them.

An app wouldn’t replace JSP… it’d just make it easier to stay connected. Imagine quicker trades, real time PMs, smoother browsing. That’s not a bad upgrade.

First you need users. The most brilliant app in the world means nothing if only 5 people are using it.
For jsp to be attractive it needs to serve a purpose. D2 is old af and most of the people have left already because there is no real value. The game was wildly popular, so people came for trading but didnt stay for the community. Thats where the real value of jsp was to transition and retain those people but the heads at the top aren't real business people. So now the traffic is gone and the site is set up as a karenville with very low quality +1's.

Eventually it will be sold pennies on a dollar and be milked for another 2-3 more years before shutting down completely.

Yeah but apps usually have problems whereas this website works pretty well for the most part! :)

I hear you; and you’re not wrong about some of that. The golden age of D2 brought massive traffic, and sure, the scene isn’t what it used to be. But I don’t think that means it’s over.

What if this is the moment to reimagine the platform? Not just as a D2 trading hub, but as a central meeting ground for niche gamers, collectors, and community driven economies? An app wouldn’t fix everything, but it could spark a second wind; something fresh to bring back veterans and invite new players in with a smoother, modern experience.

This place still has roots, and that’s more than most sites can say. With the right vision, it could grow again.

Totally fair! JSP’s web setup does work well overall; no denying that. 😄

That said, a well built app wouldn’t replace the site; it would enhance it for those who prefer mobile access. Think of it like a companion tool: faster PMs, better notifications, smoother browsing, maybe even native trade alerts. The key would be keeping it lightweight and optional, so users who love the browser still get the same great experience. Just more ways to stay connected, especially for folks on the go.

Appreciate your take; solid reminder that stability matters too!

Oh don't get me wrong, I think an app is a great idea as long as it ran as smoothly as the website itself! :D

You're not making any sense.

Quicker trades - How? You need to be on PC for most trades so doing trades on your phone wouldn't help. But also, just how would it be faster?

real time pms - Again, we already have this. Turn on push notifications on your phone.

smoother browsing - How? The mobile version is just as fast and instant as the website on a PC. If you're having load time issues then you might want to get a better phone or better service provider.

That’s true; browser shortcuts and mobile features definitely help. And for many, it’s enough for now.

But a true app opens up way more possibilities:

native push notifications
smoother UI with better scaling
faster load times
background processes (like trade alerts or messaging)
secure biometrics login
potential in app FG wallet/trade tracking

It’s not just about access; it’s about optimizing the experience. A site made app accessible is good. A site built into an app? Even better.

Let’s keep evolving with the community!

native push notifications - have it
smoother UI with better scaling - it automatically scales to your phone
faster load times - already instant, if not, get better phone/SP
background processes (like trade alerts or messaging) - have it with push notifications
secure biometrics login - Login is already secure. Never seen a single person have their jsp account hacked.
potential in app FG wallet/trade tracking - different than gold logs? If it is different then they would just add that to the site and then the app would have it as well.

Perfectly said! 🙌 That’s really the heart of it; if an app can match (or even improve on) the smoothness of the current site, it’d be a win for everyone. It's not about changing what works; it’s about adding more access without compromising quality. Glad we’re on the same page!

Appreciate your input; this kind of feedback helps make the idea stronger.
