I wonder if that could/would eventually lead to the Doom movie. I remember something about the "monsters" having 1 or a few extra chromosomes to make them super human in a sense.

Absolutely not. And there's 2, I think 2 is even worse.

They completely changed the plot. In Doom, it's demons from hell. In the movie, it's gene-edited people, I'm pretty sure. And the ending makes no sense and is just super damn stupid. They also made the worst possible scene for the use of the BFG.
