I don't understand why automakers think that's what people want.

It's the same with any industry it's called enshittification. Games have better graphics but shittier gameplay, cars have more electronics but cost and break down way more. Food is bigger and better looking but nutritionally less potent. Women have more make up and plastic surgery but cost more money and don't know how to make a sandwich. D2 is now d2r but less players and more bots..... etc etc etc... Enshittification
