1984 was the Olympics where most of the strong countries boycotted (like the Soviet Union, East Germany, etc)
Old dude at work won a gold medal in 1984 so he didn't even have to compete against the best athletes to win it
Wouldn't have cared but he talks about it a lot and keeps the certificate he got for winning gold on his desk
Been calling him out whenever he mentions it for winning the "Olympics-lite", "Not All That Glitters is Real Gold", etc

I doubt he (or anyone) would pay much knowing it was from '84. Its a tainted year
