Humans are so cruel to each other. Did you know for 900 years in China the capital punishment was so cruel and gruesome. They would execute someone called lingchi (death by 1000 cuts). They would drug someone up with opium to basically make them not pass out easily and die from shock. They would tie someone up in a public naked and starts cutting off parts of body like breast and thigh only cutting parts off that won't let the person die quickly. Depending how severe the crime was you can die within 30 minutes. For extreme crimes they would prolong the torture cutting parts off for 3 days. Nothing was off limits genitals fingers etc. This practice only recently ended early 1900 once pictures and west started noticing how barbaric China was.

From my little mind, you've touched on why I think that no advanced extraterrestrial civilization would ever wish to visit and/or interact with us. We may even discover that they put sign posts outside of our solar system warning others that there are humans on the 3rd planet from the Sun.
