It's a certain cut of meat. Maybe you guys call it something else, like Imperial Strip or something.

I see. Never heard of it.
When I'm shopping for steaks there's sirloin, ribeye, tbone or tomahawk.
With the amount of steaks I eat, I'd go bankrupt if I ate tomahawks so I usually got for sirloins or ribeye.

I guess yall call a ny strip a sirloin but we already have a sirloin here in America so idk why it’s called a NY strip
