Answer to local newspaper, about busdrivers racing through neighbourhood, resulting in deteriorating roads and rumbling in houses. New buses 2 years ago, electric, weighs 10 tons instead of fossil bus, that weighs 3. Nobody mentioned that.
"Now, i have all the respect in the world for the chauffeur profession. But there is a big difference between the drivers. About 5% are exemplary and drive nicely. 70% are in the middle, drive okay, but could learn to drive calmer and nicer. Many "chop, jerk and hit" the brakes and gas pedal, so you sit like a nodding puppet and almost get whiplash.
The last 25% drive as if they have stolen the bus and are on the run from the police. They should never have been drivers. It is like riding a roller coaster. You get off more tired than when you got on the bus. And they rarely get there much earlier anyway. I have also experienced that they rush past the stops 2-3 minutes BEFORE their scheduled time.
With drivers like the first 5%, you hardly notice that you are sitting on a bus. You get off the bus refreshed. There is always a calmer atmosphere on the bus, since people are not stressed. And one last point; They always arrive on time anyway.
The best thing would be if the directors and those who hire drivers actually got on the buses and joined the routes from time to time. Just random tests. I think that would solve a lot."
