with the advent of LEDs, growing lights / panels are widely available at an affordable price.
Get a heater or AC that can heat or cool the room to banana plant liking.
Humidifier or Dehumidifier to get the correct humidity.

Use fresh clean dirt so you reduce the chance of bugs,
Plastic off the area or floor/walls to reduce the chance of growing mold.

e- lettuce is a good practice plant,
not similar to a banana plant but if you want to grow your own food it's not hard.

Not sure, but I had a banana tree in my backyard growing up and they just grew with little care naturally
