I'll never understand why there's a black history month and a LGBTQ+ month, but not a month for the veterans that fought for all of us to have these freedoms. We live in such a backwards society.

According to my research, November is supposed to be veteran's month. However, during veteran's month, I don't have to deal with people yelling "PRIDE LOL" everywhere. Cray.

May is military appreciation month, it's meant to honor both current and former.

If you were really that concerned about this, you would have known that already.

This. The whole concept is shallow and empty. Even a single day is dumb but a month is next level. If you want to celebrate something you don't need to have a specific time period to celebrate it. If you want to respect something you don't need a specific time period to respect it. If you truly support your armed forces then support them. Having a party isn't supporting the military. Putting stuff on sale isn't supporting the military. Donating your time or funds to support veterans is supporting the military. Joining the military is supporting the military. All these month for x campaigns are completely missing the mark. No shift in culture will occur just because some people want to pretend they are supporting a cause with all flash and no substance over a month and then forget about it for the next 11 because they don't really care but they're satisfied they pretended long enough they won't get ostracized.
