Looking for someone to explain binding mechanics and if i can keep demon through a respec, would like a binding service ?

I believe (please get a second opion) it doesn't last through respec unless you have a low enough req item equipped with +bind demon skill

Demons you bind can come with a random aura if you have 20 soft skill pts into the skill. Random auras include Holy Freeze / Fanaticism / Concentration / Vigor etc (no more Conviction sadly)

You need hard points to bind special demons.
10 Hard Points: Allows you to bind Champion demons.
15 Hard Points: Allows you to bind regular Unique boss packs.
20 Hard Points: Allows you to bind Super Unique targets (such as Hephasto the Armorer or Lister the Tormenter)

Soft pts = e.g 1 pt into bind demon and +19 skills from items / GCs = 20 soft points

no problem.

Yes the bound demon dies and you have to rebind when you respec.
Also, the thing with soft points is that you can equip + skill items / GCs to get to 20 soft pts and bind a demon to get an Aura with it. And then you can go back to your normal gear, and the demon will have the aura until it dies (or you die).

im just wondering is it better to have a bound demon with a nice aura as opposed to an extra tainted. i wonder if someones done the math on this.

I find having a bound demon to tank T5 P8 Heralds a great QOL regardless of spec

Even on my current magic es spec I have a 20 soft point stone skin Urdar from Act 4 to help tank Heralds.

Also, you can create TZ games to find a trait that you want for your demon and then shard it to bind a demon with that trait.
I like to find stone skin TZ game and bind an Urdar there, makes them pretty much unkillable.

would you recommend 2 tainted 1 bound demon vs 3 tainted then? they do an awful lot of damage

Yes I am an advocate for having a bound demon always. Depends on your playstyle though some people just like teleporting around a lot to avoid the Herald while their tainted kills it like a portable Hydra
