They aren't too bad, especially if you've watched a video and recognize their special attacks, just stay high health and have an emergency 1 click teleport

reg iron so not stressing, should I max range gear or play + str hit gear?

key doesn't matter once you open the gate they are perm open for you to do while on garg tasks

also they are really really easy to kill and a pretty chill task, no worries just pay attention and you'll get into a grove with them, i do 15 or so a trip easily
