For 4 months I played on my shitty laptop with an Ethernet cable, I had one tiny dc, and it was on jagex’s end. In the 2 weeks I’ve had my “new” used computer I’ve dc’d about once a day. And it’s my internet going down. What could be causing this?

Doesn’t seem to be just a computer not connecting to the Ethernet, cuz my phone wasn’t connecting to the wifi either. Seems like the router doesn’t like being hooked up to the computer? Or maybe just too many people using my internet provider?

Sounds like a faulty Ethernet adapter to me.
Sounds like it keeps rebooting yourself.

You can buy a new one cheap and try that

Edit just read the second half.

With Corona going on a lot of people have had ISP problems due to higher amount of people using them

So best thing to do would be only do dangerous content at night when less people are on?

Call your ISP tell them your issue and confirm that’s the issue.

Also teenage boys are up all night playing CoD and Fortnite.
If it is your ISP you might wanna just do boring grinds until corona is done

Had this same issue going on for a month or so, would be days with no issues but then most of the time was just the slightest lag with random DC's all day on whatever game

Called internet provider and they sent somebody out and ofc while they were there it worked perfectly fine so couldn't find anything but replaced the router and Ethernet cable

Next day immediately started doing it again.. had a 2nd person come out the following week and it of course again wasn't doing it at all -_-
Nonetheless he ended up unplugging the router from socket it was in and put into a different wall socket saying it could be a lack of power in the outlet strip I had it plugged into

Actually seemed to fix the problem and it's been about a month of of no issues... Until last night (hoping just a fluke) but it's doing the same exact thing it was doing for that month or so it was acting up

I'm red barred on discord, but nobody hears the lag at all and I just get random 1-2 second click delays on RS the entire time / buffering issues on videos / disconnect out of no where but immediately log back in

Brand of Modem?

Do you have a Modem and Router or a stand alone gateway?

Wifi class of the device? G/N/AC? or is it a mes system like EERO/ Google Pod?

Are you by any chance using a TP-Link router?

Paid for speed?

Is your modem or router rebooting or dropping sync?

Could be Packet Error in the frequency that your provider is using or your modem is stuck on a update that your provider has done. Packet Error is not Packet Loss and take a 3.0 or 3.1 meter to detect.
Could also be snr up or down, both should be over 30, Reverse power should be between 35 and 50, down power should be between 10 and -9.9.

Internal admin log can give these.

Could be as simple as a cat chewed a line in the house, squirrel outside, or a smashed cable cord which is effecting the frequency over the line.

To give you the steps to walk thru the admin side would been the make and model of modem.

Are you working on a 2.4 or 5G side of wireless? Whi.e 5g is faster but a lot of outside things can effect it.
