Yes you can deiron into a normie account whenever.

If you die as a hardcore ironman you lose the red helmet and revert to a regular ironman.

You cannot change back to ironman once you change to normal account though.

If your account is made permanent ironman, then Jagex just requires an email as to why you'd like to revert your account. And don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you have to wait for them
to email you back.
Otherwise you can do it relatively easily and immediately.
But I agree with Steel! Stick with it. It gets more and more fun as you play!

That's what I'm finding out now, once you build a bit of a bank with items..everything becomes a bit easier to do.
