I just returned to rs3 last october from quitting since EOC, so I really don't know much

Fishing rod-o-matic is the only one i know and i dont even have any gizmo on it because i dont know how, is it difficult? all i know now is get it to lvl10 and bank it until dxp then disassemble it all

is there something similar i can do with woodcutting, mining and perhaps other skills? info seems to be scarce on google so I wanted to see what you guys can share with me, thanks.

first of all dont save lvl 10 items for dxp since its item xp you will get faster in dxp and not double xp.
and secondly if you want to know what perks to get then i suggest you google said item and then google how you make the perk you desire.

you will get 50% more item xp on dxp weekend
so if it normaly takes 2 hours to get a level 9 in a weapon then doing dxp it takes 1½ hour.

as seyda said you don't get double xp or any sort of bonus xp on dxp.

blueprints and protean cogs gives 50% more xp then normal aswell.



you can augment alot of tools for skilling (fishing / mining / smithing / firemaking etc)
however fastest invention xp is by far combat training.

you may wish to google perks etc.
the higher your invention level is the higher chance to get rare perks.
like for weapons perk p4e2 (the best perk) average is 1000 attempts to get that one at level 120.
so at level 90 it would mostlikely be in 5000 attempts or so. but as we know with jagex it's all rng

for hatchet and pickaxe - level 12 and then siphon

perks do help, its tough and costly to get the top tier perk. i usually go for like 1 below the top tier and that does well and easy to get at a decent inv level

thank you and thank everyone else who answered, but can you guys be more specific about what to use?

i.e

fishing = fish o-matic to lvl10 and disassemble
woodcutting and hatchet = "fill in the bank" to lvl ? and disassemble? or?
mining= what pickaxe should i use and what do i do with it? do i eventually disassemble it like fishing?

My assumption is fill in the blank with the best equipment you can use.
Then you siphon off the xp at item level 12 instead of disassembling the item

i heard using the wrong pickaxe for the wrong ore now has a super slow penalty for mining for instance, and this is why im asking for people who have done it what they use and what they dig/cut/fish etc and dissemble or siphon,

but if this is true i guess i do have to get earth and song pick and siphon that thing after all..

Most all of my invention training is from augmented pvm gear and slaying bossing and siphoning at item level 12. Fastest xp is going to be using cheaper gear, like t70 gear, camping monsters that give fast item exp like abyssal demons or airuts and disassembling at item level 10. If you also discover new blueprints at invention table in guild whenever you unlock them is a small but decent xp boost, as long as you go for "perfect" for maximum xp.

yes you will get penalised alot for using a pickaxe thats lower than the ore your trying to mine - and if you want invention xp then you need pick of earth and song (im not sure if its tradeable)
