its just a dfs with better bonuses?

is this really way better to have for vorkath for instance?

ofc it's way better than dfs when you use ranged.. it's like comparing a bronze defender to a dragon defender

Its far superior with a +26 mage defense and +15 ranged accuracy bonus over the Anti Dragon shield. The mage defense is nice assuming you pray ranged. Pretty sure the max hit of his ranged ball is 32 while the blue magic ball is 30, correct me if i'm wrong. I don't regret buying one to finish my BIS for Vork while I grind out the pet.

you wouldnt use dfs @ vork better to use normal anti-dragon shield

instead of asking why don't you check the stats yourself on wiki ?

DFS has -5 ranged bonus.. ward has +15.. and it also has +18 magic defense over DFS, which is useful vs vorkath
