Quest, Quest, Quest.

Dont worry about gear too much, like Amulets of Fury, Bandos and all this other fancy gear because it doesnt really matter until real late game content. Always try to keep your gear simple in the beginning

Banging out all the Free to Play quests is a good first move. It slowly gets you further away from Lumbridge and will help you learn the basics. And free XP is always nice
