You can claim a free 7 day "trial" of membership if you download the OSRS Mobile client.


  • You can only claim the trial for one account per Google Play/Apple account or device.
  • You can only claim the trial on an account that does not currently have membership - you CAN, however, claim the trial on an account that has previously had membership.


Step 1:
Open the store from inside of OSRS Mobile.




Step 2:
Click on start trial. You will be prompted to confirm your Google Play/Apple account.



Step 3:
As long as you then log into the Runescape website and cancel your subscription before your 7 day trial expires, you will not be charged anything. I did this immediately and have an account with 7 days credit remaining and no active subscription for it.

Giving this a bump, can confirm it works. Intentionally let my membership expire to see if it works, waiting another few days for my other account to run out of membership so I can see if I can do it agian.

If you're an IOS user you'll need to go into your Apple ID settings under subscriptions to cancel, but received 7 days free and cancelled immediately (you'll be provided steps by following the step 3 OP posted here).

Did the raise the price of membership again or has it been $13.49/mo for a while now?

Err, Canadian here, pretty sure it was like 11.49... OP says location NZ - regardless currency conversion certainly plays a role.
