I tired logging out and logging back in, after the quest.
I get a single line of dialog from king narode saying "I'd like to speak to you first" and I cannot trade with him.
I went through the combat training at dero and duke, still the same results.
What's holding me up here?

Ok got it, had to retrieve the dumb monkey backpack from the crash site.
