I do like the EHP way because I'm an iron, but I know there are also other irons here that participate in this, especially having to pre gather materials on the weeks like last week for smithing makes it difficult for irons to have a chance unless they had the stock already.

I voted for change

My argument to that would be that endgame irons would have an advantage because at some point they would have supplies pre gathered that gives them a higher EHP for doing nothing different
I understand that iron have harder time keeping up in some of the skills, but that is the disadvantage of them playing the way they choose to play the game

The skill comp is meant to be a fun way to motivate people to work on their accounts in a way that helps deter burnout, having competition as a goal helps with that tremendously (i would not have slammed out 99 smithing when i did if not for it)
It was never intended to be a die hard, MUST WIN IT ALL kind of thing

I rather like the way it is right now, it's easy to understand and easy for our volunteer to make things nice and presentable to everyone (Thanks again Blake you are very much appreciated for the work you do)

That is a fair point, never thought of that tbh since I'm an iron, but only at end game, but still working on 99's.
So, maybe make anyone who has a 99 on that specific skill only receive 75% XP possibly?

This would give irons more of a chance since players with 99's "may" have the stock piled up AND the best training methods since the highest skill level, or if it was a main account, they have the ability to have the best buyable methods that some irons would not have access to?
Idk I may just be talking out my ass here lol, just trying to find something that makes it reasonable for all to compete, and fairly?

I would say it's reasonable if a main went balls deep with best possible methods it would be very far and few between, like the smithing grind i did myself, i won that week, and i just did Addy plates the whole time - could have easily cranked up the amount of gold used to triple my rates
Or go completely bat shit insane and could have done crystal keys for a nice 14m exp an hour but costing me multiple bil to do
But the prize is what, 5m right now?

It's hardly worth mains going nuts on it weekly, it's added incentive, not something that should be seen as pure Olympic gaming that you have to win weekly
Don't get me wrong, i get that irons are at a disadvantage in some capacity, but not so much so that its a flipping a skill comp on it's head after 743 weeks kind of disadvantage

appreciate your conversation here as well, input from all over is good :D

I'm thinking of something I might like to add at some point but I fear people will just get made at the whales with full maximum max gear.

Was debating doing a wheel that had items on it, and people would just hunt that item until somebody wins type of thing.

It'd be a huge wheel. Someone might win in 1 day, someone might take 3-4 weeks.

Example:

Godsword shard 1
Godsword shard 2
Godsword shard 3
Sarachnis cudgel
Armadyl crossbow
Bandos boots
Dragon limbs
Dragon full helm
Guthan's spear
Bryophyta's essence
Hill giant club
Dragon pickaxe
Holy elixer
Blood shard
Jar of Darkness
Crystal tool seed
Dragon Harpoon
Etc etc.

Edit: Not to replace the skill comp, but to have something else on the side.

Couldn't have said it better, I agree with this statement.
