Im currently trying to 3t fish with guam and tar. im using a metronome, but im only getting 38k exp/hr im lvl 49 so the exp rate should be 50 to 60k

That is a long road to 99.

Tempoross is well worth it up into high levels and the passive reward is good for training cooking.

Make sure you start at the beginning of the game tick or you'll interrupt the cycle. Using indicators like sounds/exp drops/animations/visual metronome can help.

As soon as you see the fishing pole fall down (smack down) on the water and become stationary you then proceed to guam tar to reset the 3t cycle. Like others have stated temp is a better alternative as you'll burn the fuck out.
