eagle eye shield?
Eagle eye is just an unholy book with Soak.
Nex pretty much ignores your defense, as most hits are precalculated. For example, the 'Fear the Shadow' attack. That attack has a cap damage, and isn't an overkill. Say you're 480 HP, and she casts it. If you brew, after it appears, it will deal a 480, and not kill you. The damage is figured out before the attack hits, and it ignores all of your gear. The only reason why Eagle Eye is used, is for the +4 Ranged attack. The Soaking bonuses are negligible.
With damage being capped at 500, strength bonus is also useless. This is why a DFS is worthless. It increases your max hit, which doesn't help anywhere but minions, which get dropped in 5 seconds. It soaks absolutely no damage, which, if it did, wouldn't even be too helpful. And the defense is ignored.
Divines and Elysians are really nice, only because of the damage removing ability. If she completely ignored Divines and Elys, I'd be down there with an unholy.
There's a lot of info coming in about nex, every day. Just yesterday I learned, (While it was known in our team, but some dickhead didn't admit it) that Nex has a relatively low defense level - But she has ridiculous equipment stats. If you SWH her, it barely does anything. Drops her defense, but not her armor stats. Good to see Jagex dodge that one. Could have been as bad as corp. (Another reason why accuracy bonus > Strength down there.)

iso explanations on sol tanking etc
never been to nex, doubt i ever will but that boss is intriguing
Uh, basically, in the Zaros stage she attacks whoever has the lowest magic defense. This is why Void isn't used on our teams. If you're in void, you're on DPS Duty, not tank duty.
So what you do, basically, is if you're a designated tank, you remove your Top and Bottom, and leave on your Divine. Then you pray Melee (Which lowers your Magic Defense, compared to everyone else protecting Magic) which further lowers her hits. She can melee around 380. Once you run that through a Staff of Light special, a Divine, and protect from melee, it's down to something in the 10 zone usually.
Helps a lot. If you don't have a SOL tank, she'll usually pick on one person, until someone else fucks up, and then jump to them. Every hit SOL Tanking saves like.. Probably half a dose of brew. That's a good bit, especially if you have a slow last form. (Like you do in smaller teams.)
TL;DR It reduces damage.Quote (Fooba @ Apr 6 2011 07:45pm)
Need a vid of your team ripping up Nex.
I think we've got one somewhere. I know one dumbass went to solo. Second person to ever get to blood solo, but he's still a dumbass. Missed gloves off Umbra.
